Nurri

Spec Commercial & Integrated Content Concept

Brand: Nurri Protein Shake

Role: Concept Development, Creative Direction, Cinematography, Editing

Project Type: Self-Initiated Spec Commercial

The Opportunity

Nurri operates in a highly competitive protein beverage market dominated by performance-driven messaging and functional claims.

The opportunity was to reframe the category — shifting from purely nutritional positioning to culturally relevant, relatable storytelling designed for modern social platforms. Rather than highlighting macros and benefits alone, the concept focused on everyday momentum — how real people integrate protein into real life.

The Concept

Create a scroll-stopping, relatable commercial rooted in authenticity rather than polished fitness tropes.

The direction leaned into:

•  Everyday environments

•  Natural lighting

•  Humor and relatability

•  Fast pacing optimized for social feeds

•  Mobile-first framing

The goal was to create content that feels native to Instagram and TikTok while maintaining cinematic discipline.

Creative Direction

The commercial was designed around three key pillars:

1. Relatability Over Perfection

Shift away from staged gym clichés toward lived-in, everyday scenarios.

2. Movement & Momentum

Use pacing, cuts, and framing to reflect energy and daily rhythm.

3. Product Integration Without Disruption

Ensure the bottle felt embedded in the story — not inserted as an advertisement.

Lighting was intentionally natural.

Color grading balanced vibrancy with realism.

Framing remained tight and mobile-optimized to maintain attention in-feed.

Execution

Deliverables included:

•  1 primary spec commercial

•  Short-form cutdowns for social

•  Vertical-format edits

•  Thumbnail-optimized still frames

•  Branded motion graphics integration

The project demonstrated end-to-end creative ownership — from concept development through final edit.

Outcome

While self-initiated, the project illustrates a scalable campaign framework adaptable for DTC beverage brands seeking culturally aligned, platform-native storytelling.

The case study demonstrates:

•  Integrated concept development

•  Motion-first art direction

•  Social-native execution

•  Multi-format adaptability

•  Brand storytelling beyond functional claims
